BEORMA QUARTER ushers in new era for Birmingham investment
Following over a decade of investment, planning, refinement and construction, BEORMA QUARTER Phase 2 is almost complete. This contemporary development features a range of new and established properties, including its centrepiece – an impressive landmark for office, residential and retail space.
The new landmark comprises both 1 BEORMA PLACE, 152,000 sq ft of Grade A office space, and BEORMA TOWER, 125 luxury apartments, with further retail opportunities at ground level.

A rich history for an exciting future
Whilst this is a pioneering endeavour, BEORMA QUARTER takes much inspiration from Birmingham’s rich history. Even the word Beorma is derived from the original settlement’s Anglo-Saxon founder and the origins of Birmingham itself.
This is an element that resides at the core of the development’s values – respecting and celebrating the unique heritage of the city, whilst driving on new ideas, innovation and modern standards of quality.
Much like the early days of the ‘Beorma-ing-ham’ settlement in the 7th century, Birmingham is now on the verge of a whole new era of modernisation and growth. This is a fresh start for the city and one that BEORMA QUARTER will be right at the heart of.
“The completion of BEORMA QUARTER, and its commercial space, 1 BEORMA PLACE, truly exemplifies the bold and exciting evolution Birmingham is currently experiencing,” Scott Rutherford, Partner at Cushman & Wakefield stated. “With the enhanced level of quality, connectivity and collaborative opportunities Birmingham has committed itself to, the city and BEORMA QUARTER are sure to attract significant attention and investment.”
An area filled with investment opportunities
The Digbeth area of the city centre, for which BEORMA QUARTER is the gateway location to the newest creative quarter, is famed for its expressive spirit and independent soul. A source of street art, vibrant nightlife and historical depth, Digbeth has steadily been undergoing regeneration works as part of a wider 10-year plan for the area.
The works have been so effective that, in 2022, it was announced that the BBC would be building a state-of-the-art headquarters at the former tea factory, Typhoo Wharf. The rejuvenated property delivers 84,000 sq ft of commercial space, which will be ready for occupancy in 2026.
‘ONE OF THE MOST UP AND COMING CREATIVE DISTRICTS IN THE COUNTRY’Stuart Thomas, Former Head of BBC Midlands
The importance of having such a prominent British business choose to make Digbeth its home cannot be overstated. The former Head of BBC Midlands, Stuart Thomas, even referred to the area as “one of the most up-and-coming creative districts in the country.”
It should come as no surprise that the announcement has led to operations of all kinds blossoming in Digbeth. The region is supported by many previously established commercial properties, which are aiding greatly in this growth. The Custard Factory, a Birmingham creative staple, even reported over the summer that it is now home to over 400 businesses.

Not only that, but Digbeth’s impressive transport links, including Birmingham Moor Street Station, Birmingham Coach Station and a broad local bus and tram network, will be boosted by HS2. Upon completion, high-speed trains to Birmingham will operate at Curzon Street Station – another revitalised location just a stone’s throw from BEORMA QUARTER.
“Digbeth is already the cultural and creative hub for the West Midlands,” Callum Gilbert, Senior Surveyor at Cushman & Wakefield, said. “However, the BBC’s impending arrival has rapidly advanced the standards the area is holding itself to. This is attracting a wider talent pool from across the country, which will only expand further thanks to HS2, as well as the significant Smithfield residential development.”
A new home for vibrant businesses
With so much happening in Digbeth and the wider Birmingham area, there has never been a better time to make your own investment in the city. A move to BEORMA QUARTER, and 1 BEORMA PLACE, is underpinned by a specification that sells itself.
“Comprising eleven floors, this pioneering space has been designed to be BREEAM Excellent and EPC-A,“ Scott Rutherford continued. “Gas-free and fully electric, 1 BEORMA PLACE is also supported by an ultra-efficient cooling and heating system for a level of sustainability that meets the requirements of any ESG-focused business.

“With your team having to adjust to a new working environment and lifestyles, this landmark captures the spirit of innovation and new ideas. With a business lounge, landscaped terraces and outdoor spaces, cycle storage for greener commutes and bespoke breakout areas, you can achieve your best work away from desks and screens.”
Upon completion, 1 BEORMA PLACE, together with the historic Cold Store and the 108-room Adagio Aparthotel, will provide several ground-floor retail investment opportunities. Boosting the level of on-site amenities even further, these spaces offer huge potential for restaurants, coffee shops or a gymnasium – taking advantage of exceptional public footfall in a proven location.
1 BEORMA PLACE has clearly been developed to make an immediate impact in the city. Once complete in August 2026, every element of BEORMA QUARTER will be ready to carry Birmingham towards its incomparable future, primed for new possibilities, fresh starts and greater achievements than ever before.
